Detained at Trib Drama’s pleasure

Wetherby Senior’s young actors are behind bars, with tickets now on sale for our Trib Drama production – Cockroaches.

Taking place in our Marylebone Lane Drama Studio, on Monday 27th and Thursday 30th March, Cockroaches sees each Trib perform a different scene, having selected their own director, assistant director and actors. As an entirely pupil-led production, it enables our boys to develop their dramatic skills, both on- and off-stage, while competing to win points for their Trib.

Written specifically for Wetherby Senior, to ensure each scene is balanced for our external judge, this year’s play is set within a prison overrun by cockroaches. When the prison warden receives a mysterious letter, it becomes clear that nobody can hide and that their imprisonment will only make punishment easier. Will the prison warden save our five prisoners or is he a threat too? Has the threat come from within or will they catch the culprit before the danger begins?

Ms Twomey, Head of Drama at Wetherby Senior, said: “I have been so impressed with the hard work and dedication that pupils have displayed towards this year’s production – we have nearly 50 boys involved from across our five Tribs. With fantastic talent and an exciting script, you won’t be wanting a get out of jail free card! Please book your tickets now to enjoy our amazing Trib Drama production next week.”

Cockroaches will be judged by the Head of Drama from Francis Holland School. Tickets are now on sale via ParentPay.

Wetherby Senior sixth formers have been snapping around London, taking photos of what our capital city means to them.
