That’s the ticket

Tickets are selling fast for next week’s Lower School drama production – The Useless Tree.

Making good use of our Drama Studio, the world premiere of this Wetherby Senior production will be on Wednesday 29th June, with a second performance on Thursday 30th June. Tickets are available via ParentPay.

Written and directed by our School’s very own Mr Tibbles, The Useless Tree was inspired by the experience of another Wetherby Senior teacher. He explains: “Last year, Mr Hayes was telling me how the land at the bottom of his garden may be destroyed for property development. Afterwards, I continued to reflect on his story and found the characters of a play starting to form.”

Mr Tibbles set to work, writing and researching what would eventually become The Useless Tree. Following auditions last term, a cast was put together from pupils in Years 7 to 9, and a professionally designed set has been erected in our Marylebone Lane Drama Studio.

Mr Tibbles added: “Tickets are still available, so please book now to see some our most talented Lower School actors take on an emotionally mature play, that explores themes of protest, climate change, grief and storytelling.

The Useless Tree has been over a year in the making, from conception to stage, so we can’t wait to show the hard work and dedication of some of our youngest pupils to our wider School community next week.”

Tickets for The Useless Tree, on Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th June, are currently available to purchase on ParentPay.
