Economic excellence

Ahmad has an offer to read Economics at Queen Mary, University of London. He lives in Kensington and is studying A Levels in English, Mathematics and Economics within Wetherby Senior’s Sixth Form.

“During my time at Wetherby Senior, staff have been fantastic – full of support and patience. Within the Sixth Form, they always go the extra mile to support sixth formers with their studies and university ambitions, from general advice and guidance, to handbooks and one-to-one talks, and more. It has all been absolutely brilliant.

“I have made some amazing memories while at Wetherby Senior School. A particularly fond memory will always be the Dungeons and Dragons Club that I attended. I definitely became a long-time fan of the game thanks to this club!

“After my undergraduate degree, I would like to take a gap year and travel. I’d also like to do a Masters programme and then try to run a business, while ensuring I still have enough free time to pursue my passion for writing.”

Queen Mary, University of London, is a Russell Group institution ranked seventh in the UK in the Research Excellence Framework. Notable alumni or faculty include nine Nobel Laureates, with the most recent being Sir Peter John Ratcliffe in 2019, for his discovery of how cells sense and adapt to oxygen availability.

Wetherby Senior’s current Year 13 presently hold over 120 offers, across 35 subjects, at universities around the UK and in North America, France, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands. We’ve been interviewing many of our successful sixth formers to acknowledge their hard work and commitment, and to further inspire to our younger pupils.
