Pyjama power

As Wetherby Senior’s young people put on their uniforms this week, one Wetherby Senior teacher was putting on her pyjamas.

Before eyebrows are raised, Ms Holmes was teaching her A Level Economics and A Level Business classes in her pyjamas after losing a bet regarding their recent exam results. This caused much delight amongst her Year 13 groups, not least because seeing Ms Holmes in pyjamas meant most of the class had achieved higher grades in their mock exams.

Ms Holmes explains: “I told my sixth formers that, if more than half achieved a higher grade in their March mocks, then I’d teach their first class after Easter in my pyjamas. I’m pleased to say that over half received an improved grade and, of course, I couldn’t go back on my wager.

“Sixth formers had only been given their individual exam results, so didn’t know how well the cohort had performed until I walked in! Naturally they burst out laughing when they saw my pyjamas, but they were also very happy to see their hard work reflected in higher marks.”

Well done to our sixth formers for their exam success and well done to Ms Holmes on being such a good sleepwear sport!

Wetherby Senior sixth formers have been snapping around London, taking photos of what our capital city means to them.
