Computer says yes

Through volunteer work in the local community, sixth formers at Wetherby Senior have been helping older people get with the (computer) program.

Organised fortnightly by Age UK Westminster, the Age UK ITea Party helps those over 50 to build their online skills and learn how to use the internet safely. A number of our current Year 12 have joined these events at nearby Marylebone Library, providing one-to-one tutoring to support local residents in making the most of their computers, tablets and phones.

Theo, in Year 12, volunteered at an Age UK ITea Party at Marylebone Library last week. He said: “This was a great chance for us to help older people with various tools for their devices. It was a thoroughly rewarding experience.”

Any sixth formers interested in volunteering at future Age UK ITea parties should speak to Mr Hayes. For more information about this initiative, click here.

Wetherby Senior sixth formers have been snapping around London, taking photos of what our capital city means to them.
