The Barometer – Half Term 3

From local history to art history and from theatre reviews to swimming success, the latest edition of The Barometer has plenty for you to enjoy over half-term.

Available online, here, The Barometer – Half Term 3 contains a range of interesting and informative articles, written by young people from all year groups at Wetherby Senior.

A number of pieces are related to life at Wetherby Senior with feedback on our Trib science quiz, plus reviews of our staff pantomime and of theatre trips or lectures that our young people have enjoyed this term. There is also a fascinating article by Kaveh, in Year 10, who used Ordnance Survey maps to explore the history of our School’s central London buildings, and an inspiring piece by Marty, in Year 7, on the four medals he won at the ISA National Swimming Competition.

Other stories address a variety of different topics, with topical science articles by Henry in Year 13, a reflection on little known Russian artist Vrubel by Mikhail in Year 13, and a look at the valuable everyday uses of 3D graphics by Year 7 pupil, Daniel.

With two issues of The Barometer produced each term, our pupil-led publication enables our young people to gain valuable experience of writing and creating a magazine from scratch. It also ensures that all within our School community have a good read for the forthcoming holiday.
